3/31/24, 9pm Update on Sir Arthur

Sir Arthur, coming from an auction barn, (auction barns are notorious for strangles and other equine diseases) is being quarantined for 30 days, and no one will be allowed near him for his safety, our other horses safety and your safety.

Besides donating to his gofundme page, here is a list of items we will accept for him.

* hay (good grass hay and/or grass hay/alfalfa mix
* good quality senior horse feed
* alfalfa pellets (in a lot of starving horses,
they tend to choke for eating too fast, so I
will soak alfalfa pellets to make a wet
base to add his senior feed to so his grain
will not ball up in his throat, causing a
choke. He did choke today, but I was able
   to clear it.
* apples. I will cut up apples into small
pieces to add to his grain mixture.
* bedding in the form of straw or bedding
   pellets.

Much love and a huge thank you to all who have donated/will donate!

@everyone
Always!
This is so me!

2024 Riding Season!
We are called the "Butler County Hoofbeatz 4H Club. Our main interest is equines (horses) and welcome new members! You can reside anywhere in Butler County and be a part of our club. We typically meet in the Oxford area.

You do not need to own a horse to enjoy being a member of the Butler County Hoofbeatz 4H Club! There are great ways to be equine involved without owning a horse such as the "Horseless Equine" project. Come join a great group of kids, both town and rural, as we learn, play and have fun together!

4-H is a non-formal educational, youth development program. Your child will be a Cloverbud if they are 5 years old and in Kindergarten through 7-8 years old and in second grade. Once a kiddo is 8 years old and in 3rd grade, they are a typical 4H member.

Please contact me with any questions!

Most meetings are held here at Nation Road Horse Rental!

Let's make a difference this year!
Nation Road Horse Rental will be accepting donations at our office between now and December 9th. Several of our workers have already volunteered to then take all items collected to Hope's Closet.

Hope's Closet is a clothing boutique in Butler County that only serves local foster children.

Children can go to Hope's Closet for a shopping visit twice a year during spring/summer and fall/winter seasonal changes. We also offer shopping for back to school and for when a child’s size changes. All items are distributed through personalized shopping visits where foster children and their foster parent work with a volunteer assistant to select items.

Hope's Closet served 250 foster children in the first month of the fall shopping season and they could use help keeping the SHOE racks stocked! Key needs are for little kid sizes 9-13 for girls and 8-13 for boys, and big kid sizes 1-3 for girls and 2-6 for boys.

They take the following items in ALL sizes:
- clothing
- pajamas
- socks
- underwear
- coats/ jackets
- hats/ gloves
- shoes
- books
- infant toys
- new in the box toys/ games (Christmas is coming up)
- backpacks
- school supplies
- baby gear/ equipment
- toiletries (shampoo, soap, hairbrushes, combs, deodorant, hair ties, barrettes, makeup, lotion, etc.)
- youth sporting equipment (baseball glove, basketball, cleats, shin guards, etc.)
- kid friendly wall decor for their room

They only accept lightly used or new items (no stains, holes, rips, etc.) as to help the children in foster care feel confident and special. (Think like a boutique-like Goodwill).
